Ginger Thoroughbred Mare Underwent abdominal surgery for a severe case of colic in 2007 at the cost of over $10,000.00. She is completely healthy now and back with the herd. Ginger is available for adoption. Her fee is $2500.00 She requires an intermediate handler and would be suitable for very light riding only. She must be double padded under a saddle. A bareback pad is preferred.

Lucien (Lu-chen) gelding Born 1997  Currenlty in a wonderful home Rescued from slaughter Special Conditions: Swayback

Chief was chained to a fence with no food or water. Some local people in the town rescued him. He was taken to a ranch nearby where he was used as a gelding demo. His approximate age is 25 but we don't know his real name or even what his life was like prior to his rescue. He does have severe saddle sores and scars all over his body. When he first came to WHR, he would shut his eyes real tight whenever a person approached his stall. He was very thin and his feet were overgrown. Today, he's beautiful, happy and a bit sassy too. Maddy Quarterhorse mare Born approximately 1992 Maddy is available for adoption. She requires an extremely experienced handler capable of handling difficult or frightened horses. Maddy is fearful of humans. Some of our more expert handlers can get a halter on her and peform some of the Parelli games with her in the round pen. She wants to trust but will need a lot of time, patience and love from the right person. Her adoption fee is $1000.00

Lalique  20 year old Arabian Mare. Very gentle, loads, clips, trailers, a real lady.  She has degenerative suspensory desmitis. LaLique is currently in a wonderful foster home.
